About LRS
Luther Rice raised the necessary funding and lobbied President James Monroe and Congress to make George Washington's vision of a university in the heart of our nation's capital a reality. The Luther Rice Society is named in his honor.
Today, nearly 200 years later, the society provides premium networking opportunities, exclusive events, and access to our leading alumni and university officials. Membership is extended to alumni and friends who make annual gifts between July 1 and June 30 of each fiscal year at the following levels:
- $250+ for alumni within 5 years of graduation
- $500+ for alumni 6-9 years after graduation
- $1,000+ for alumni 10+ years after graduation
